“SPSI has grown steadily over the past four decades and is poised to grow even more in the next five years through the addition of more physician practices, extending our range of services, as well as geographic reach,” said Richard Schaffner, senior vice president and COO, Holy Spirit Health System.  “As we move forward, this strategically vital organization requires dedicated leadership to guide it through health care reform, the challenges of growth, further physician alignment integration, movement toward accountable care and the many other payer and regulatory changes,” he said.

Haga has considerable experience in managing complex physician organizations, most recently at St. Vincent’s Health System in Indianapolis, Indiana where he was responsible for a 240-provider practice.

He has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, IN, and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, ND. Haga is a former CPA and is a member of the Medical Group Management Association and the American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE). He is certified by the ACMPE.
