Palliative care is a new specialty that offers expert assessment and care planning to control difficult symptoms such as severe pain, difficulty breathing, fatigue, or uncontrolled nausea and vomiting for patients in Holy Spirit Hospital.

When a consultation is ordered, our palliative care team of specially-trained doctors, nurses, pastoral care workers, and social workers will pay close attention to your suffering. They may suggest additional treatments or therapies to help with these problems. They will also help the patient and family understand the underlying medical problem while offering support with medical decisions.
